Too many times we have resorted to creating microsites for campaigns, spending our campaign dollars in driving audiences to the microsite, only to lose them once the campaign ends. With ‘The Big Leap’ being a youth-centric, peer-to-peer marketing campaign, we wanted to create a microsite but within the brand page on Facebook. ‘The Big Leap’ application created on Facebook is among the most comprehensive user apps, with the functionality of a microsite and the advantages of resting within social media.
‘The Big Leap’ Facebook tab was created using Facebook Canvas and Facebook TAB application using HTML5, Javascript, PHP and Rest services with MYSQL Database. It includes Frames handling, Video Embed feature, Camera in iFrames (TAB) Upload/Download functionality support for multiple documents, and our own Login Authentication handled within iFrame to ensure Facebook users of the app are registered with us . It allows for user sign-ins with gated engagement as well as gated content and notifications, while also allowing engagement with public-facing content, embedded videos, online games, provisions to upload
user-generated content as well as a moderation panel for quick sharing and launch.
